Join us for further conversation on Tuesday, May 12 for the special event: "Racism & Resistance: Roundtable on Asian American Experiences in the Pandemic." Dr. Will Gow will return and moderate a roundtable discussion featuring Judy Wu, Russell Jeung, and Linda Lee. Our panelists will share with us the deep history of anti-Asian exclusion in the United States; the economic and political challenges surrounding anti-Asian violence & racism during COVID-19; and ideas for action and response, including through the lens of restorative justice.

As the nation struggles to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic, the United States has witnessed a troubling increase in violence and racist incidents targeting people with Asian backgrounds. This special event open to the whole Stanford community (including students, alumni and staff) will bring together leading scholars and activists in Asian American Studies. They will share with us the much-longer history of discrimination against Asians in the United States; the current challenge during the pandemic; and what we can do about it today.
